Gifting Simplified | The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old

It’s that time of year where gifting becomes a must for pretty much all of us, and sometimes we just don’t know where to start for those special people in our lives – especially when we’re shopping for ‘that guy who has everything’. I consider myself one of those ‘guys’ since there isn’t much that I need to get by, or at least nothing particular comes to mind at this point in time. So a gift that is timeless endearing makes the most sense because it is a gift that keeps on giving, in my opinion.

There are a few types of gift ideas that come to mind, but a novelty scotch whisky is one thing that you can’t go wrong with. Even if a guy doesn’t drink much, this gift is something that they can bring out for social gatherings!

While gift giving is a little more complicated then just that, this idea combines well with other warm gifts, such as scarves, candles and books. Just thinking of those in harmony conjures up an image of complete coziness.

But yes, let’s focus on the topic at hand.

I’ve decided to focus on The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old, simply because it is a premium single-malt scotch that stands out, without breaking bank. It’s an accessible luxury that maintains the superior qualities of the prestigious Macallan brand. Beyond the fact that it makes a great gift, it also serves as the perfect drink to share with friends and family during the holidays. It is an earnest and sweet choice for anyone because it isn’t overly complicated with a multitude of flavours. The perfectly balanced combination of American and sherry seasoned European oak make this particular whisky an easy and sincere choice, since it combines the best of two worlds. This is a new take on the signature style of Macallan.

Two worlds, one Macallan.

As we all know, The Macallan is well known for their commitment and skill as Masters of Spirit and Wood since 1824. The investment in time and extraordinary quality reflect the brand’s endearment to their heritage. The Macallan brings new oak from America all the way to Spain, where the casks are crafted and sherry seasoned before arriving at the distillery on Speyside, where the scotch matures for 12 years. The whiskies produced are then harmoniously united with those aged in exceptional sherry seasoned European oak casks.
