Two Cool For School

1 FINAL

I want to start off by giving huge credits to Sean Pollock (check out his work here) once again for working his magic behind the lens and really making everything stand out! Also, thanks to Sandra Nehme for some great artistic direction!

Sometimes your schedule requires you to be at more than one place in the same day. While having limited time to change outfits in between, this can be a dilemma. For example, you have classes to attend during the day and when the evening comes around, you have a birthday dinner for a friend you haven’t seen in a while.

The solution? Simple. Wear it all at once.

You’re probably wondering – whoa. All at once? Dude…

Well, I tend to find myself in that situation often, so what I choose to do is wear my evening outfit while throwing on more casual pieces to make the commute more comfortable, while looking casual and not overly done. Having a large backpack helps (like in my case), however if you don’t have one on you, you can still do a fair bit.

As you can see in ‘both outfits’, the fundamentals are the same. All I do during the day is wear a pair of runners and throw on a baseball cap, topped off with a casual quilted jacket. When the evening rolls around I switch the items into my backpack for a wide brim fedora and loafers.

The outfit itself consists of a white oxford, to keep it simple. Other colours work as well. I then layer that with a two-tone knit sweater. Cardigans work well, as well as other sweaters that you have. This is a very versatile look. To top it off, I threw on a tailored blazer to sophisticate the ensemble. Adding a pocket square that shares tones with your socks or sweater really adds a bit of excitement to the whole look. So get creative with that and have fun! As for the pants a pair of dress pants worked right for me, but you can work with chinos or a solid dark rinse pair of jeans.

Finally, as an end note, don’t be afraid to explore other options when it comes to layers and clothes in general. You’ll never know what you’re capable of (in terms of creativity) until you go out of your comfort zone and try something new. You’ll be surprised at how confident you will feel – and ultimately the lasting effect that this has on your future sartorial decisions!

Cheers guys, thanks for reading!
