After a few weeks of exploring the city with an e-bike, I wanted to share how enjoyable and easy it was to plan a full-day adventure. This blog post will go over an itinerary that I personally enjoyed (along with some of my favourite spots) – but you can also use it as a source of inspiration to plan your next bike trip around the city!

Start with a Coffee at Kafka

Kickstart your day at Kafka (860 Richards St), a trendy coffee shop located in the heart of Vancouver. Kafka’s cozy ambiance and friendly baristas make it the perfect spot to plan your adventure while enjoying a rich, aromatic cup of joe.

Ride around the Sea Wall

Hop on your e-bike and embark on a scenic journey along Vancouver’s famous Sea Wall. As you pedal along the waterfront, you’ll be mesmerized by the breathtaking views of the city skyline, towering mountains, and sparkling ocean. The dedicated bike lanes ensure a safe and enjoyable ride, free from the hassles of traffic. Take your time, breathe in the fresh ocean air, and soak up the natural beauty that surrounds you. There’s no rush on completing it in a certain amount of time!

Lunch at DownLow Chicken Shack:

After working up an appetite, head to DownLow Chicken Shack, a local and personal favourite known for its mouthwatering fried chicken. With your trusty e-bike, you can effortlessly navigate through the city and arrive at this hidden gem. Indulge in their crispy, flavourful chicken sandwich (I get the dark meat usually; medium spicy) paired with delicious sides, all made with locally sourced ingredients. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff make it the perfect spot to refuel before continuing your adventure.

Grab Ice Cream at Soft Peaks

Satisfy your sweet tooth with a quick visit to Soft Peaks, a popular ice cream parlour known for its organic, handcrafted treats. Using locally sourced ingredients, Soft Peaks creates unique and delightful flavours that will tantalize your taste buds. I usually keep it simple with a twist soft-serve cone, but it’s definitely worth trying their other awesome creations. You’ll probably be quite satisfied at this point, which is a perfect time to explore and shop the surrounding area in Gastown.

Catch the Sunset on Sunset Beach

As the day draws to a close, pedal your way over to Sunset Beach, a serene and picturesque spot perfect for witnessing Vancouver’s breathtaking sunsets. With your e-bike, you can easily navigate the city’s streets and reach this peaceful haven in no time. Find a comfortable spot on the sandy beach, bask in the warm glow of the setting sun, and reflect on the unforgettable day you’ve had exploring Vancouver without the need for a car!
