I wrote up a post not too long ago about getting yourself a quality leather belt; an important staple in every person’s wardrobe. But what makes one belt better than the other?

Personally, and in my opinion, quality and style are defining factors. I have tried my share of belts and have realized that some are in fact better than others (obviously) because of the craftsmanship behind the product. And as with anything nowadays, it can be daunting trying to decide which brand is better and so on (because of the sheer amount of products out there).

So I want to highlight one particular belt that has stood out to me over the last little while, the casual burgundy leather belt by Solid Leather.

This quality, handmade leather belt stands out to me because of the reasons I mentioned above. It’s super stylish (especially the boldness of the burgundy colour) and the brass detailing is simple yet tasteful. The quality can be felt just by holding the belt; as it has a nice weight to it, without being too heavy. As you wear the belt more, the leather naturally relaxes and becomes more ‘worn in’, ultimately giving it a nice rugged yet stylish appearance.

It’s one of those belts that you can wear with anything and for any occasion. Yes, it is a casual belt in theory, but there are times where you can take it a step further and elevate it into your dressed up looks. With versatility in mind, having a belt you can wear with anything allows you to non-chalantly transition it to any occasion.

The only issue with dressing it up is that you should try to follow the unwritten rule of thumb – matching your belt to your shoes, and if you don’t have a pair of burgundy dress shoes or loafers, it can mess with the coordination a bit (I tried to go against the grain in the photo below, and yeah – it looks okay, but better matched, obviously). Again – it’s not a big deal, but it’s also not a bad idea to consider a fun pair of burgundy kicks.
